Pourquoi une telle modification ? Simplement car nous trouvons que cette table bloque trois portes importantes. Il faut toujours bouger la table pour y avoir accès. Côté pratique, cette table ne nous est utile qu'en temps de pluie, car nous préférons manger à l'extérieur. Là, elle a une place fixe qui ne dérange pas, et elle est accessible en cas de besoin (rarement). Pour ceux qui ont l'air climatisée, cette modification (comme présenté ici) n'est pas possible.
Why this modification, simply because this table is blocking 3 useful doors, and most of the time we like to eat outside anyway. In a Bus (76-79) you have the almost the same table BUT you cannot retract this one like a Vanagon to make the bed at night, it's to big and the leg in in the way, so i'm use to moving a table around each night (i hate it). So we found a way to "hide" the table (not in the way) but easily accessible if needed. Of course, if you have AC, forget about this mod.
Le pied (partie arrière) tient simplement avec deux lanières de velcro (cotés doux, femelle, collés dos à dos) vissées au plafond et deux "snap" retiennent le tout en place / The leg (in the back) is hold there with 2 velcro straps, I use 2 strips of the soft side glued together, after each one is screwed on the ceiling and I use 2 "snap button" per strip to hold the leg in place.
À gauche, un soutien en "U" aide la table à ne pas bouger lorsque le véhicule est en mouvement (recouvert de velcro aussi pour ne pas abîmer la table et pour amortir le bruit de vibration entre ce soutien et la table) / On the left, a "U" shape part was made out of a metal part (cover with soft velcro) to hold the table in place so in doesn't move wile driving, one screw is holding this one there.
Voici le soutien pour la partie avant du pied, simplement fait d'un métal mou (recouvert de velco encore une fois, pour ne pas abîmer le pied ou pour amortir le bruit de vibration entre le soutien et le pied de métal lorsque sur la route) / Here is where the other end of the leg is hooked, simply made out of soft metal and hold there with 2 screws.
