This trip is going well so far. 13 month
ago, we started planing this one, 13 months is a long wait! But now, we
are here! I have read many p-mail and stuff on the blog, people wish
they were here with us, they say that they are almost with us with all
those pictures. Yea, it's cool. But now, we need to relax a bit and
start enjoying that trip. As for me, i'm still don't feel that i'm in
vacation... to much stress due to planing such a trip and the workload i
had before i left (including the Subaru installation here in Zacatecas)
, on top, it's a lot of driving... but it's all worthed so far. Many
know me enough that they know that the only thing that make me feel away
and in vacation is the ocean, the sea! So, in about 10 days i will be
there. Yea, it's then that i will find the right spot, set up my westy
in a hibernation mode and forget internet, work load, and home and think
about me. I will had a lot more on
the crossing, the stress of doing so, the Mexican people and the hassle
(if there is anny) of all that later, i have a lot of things to say
about that... but let's just say for now that we are IN Mexico and
everything went VERY smooth! We are already in Zacatecas, a beautiful
town, no, a VERY beautiful one... This town as much to offer, and for
pictures... ouffff, wait and see, this page will be full of it in the
next few days. Instead of writing and writing... i will instead,
like i always do, put some pictures on this page, you be the juge! I'm
STILL VERY tired (of all the workload i had the pass months and all that
FAST driving) and i don't have the energy to do so now, even "compessing"
all the pictures for the web is painfull... The real vacation for us
will begin in about 10 days, on the beach!!! for now, i have an engine
to install and a wedding to attend!!!
We are still doing some experimentation with our
new lens.. (we have 7 for our Canon XTI and XT), some don't give me the
colors i want... but we will get there.

Ce voyage va bien pour
l'instant. Cela fait 13 mois qu'on planifie ce voyage, oui! 13 mois
c'est long. Mais là, c'est la réalité, nous y sommes. Ce soir, j'ai pris le temps de lire mes e-mail
(beaucoup), le blog et d'autre commentaires venus d'ailleurs, cela ma
fait réfléchir, les gens me disent qu'ils donneraient tout pour être
présent... et bien moi, j'y suis et je dois en profiter Cela prend un certain temps pour le
réaliser, pour s'adapter. Le stress du départ, le travail (y compris la
préparation de l'installation d'un moteur a 5000km du
garage...) et la charge du travail des dernier mois, laisser la famille sont difficile
à digérer. Je vais finir par m'adapter. Plusieurs me connaissent assez pour savoir que la seule chose qui
me/nous relaxe pleinement c'est la mer, oui, l'océan. Donc dans 10
jours, nous y serons!!! et la, je vais mettre de coté Internet, la
maison et le travail. Nous allons mettre le West en mode hibernation...
et relaxer pour vrai.
Je vais, plus tard, ajouter
pas mal de texte sur le passage au Mexique, les gens, le stress que cela
apporte et même les troubles, le plaisir... Disons que nous sommes tous sains et saufs et bel et bien au Mexique.
La douane, tout s'est passé hyper bien et facilement. A la place
d'écrire, je vais tout simplement vous donner des images.
Je/Nous sommes très et toujours aussi fatigués (Travail des dernier mois,
la route, le stress de traverser, de ne pas parler cette charmante
langue...), donc je n'ai pas l'énergie d'écrire tout en détails, même si
j'en ai long à dire. Juste de compresser les images me
demande pas mal d'énergie (surtout à 8500 pieds... hi hi). Les vrais
vacances vont commencer dans 10 jours... mais avant, j'ai un moteur a
installer et un mariage!!!
Nous sommes toujours en mode
expérimental en ce qui a trait à nos nouvelles lentilles (on en as 7 pour
nos Canon XTI et XT). Quelque unes, pour l'instant, ne me donnent pas
pleine
satisfaction. Mais bon, avec le temps, ca va venir. La faute est
derrière la caméra, manque d'expérience :-). |

December 6, Frank & Rita,
Jean and Jason have left us, Jason will ride with them for a
wile but he is not comming to the wedding, he is going direct
to La Ticla, on the beach. The others are gone to Zamora. Me &
Sylvia, Hans and Jonathan are still here for a few days, we
need to finish the Subaru engine and Jonathan need to do some
work so he need internet. The second group may meet us here?
We will have more time to visit that great charming city, like
the people in it!
It's now 9pm, i just had news
that they all made it safe to Zamora. But! the road was not
easy and they got lost a few time... the bad news, Jason left
Zamora but with a engine problem... heavy blue smoke! on the
way down, he had a serious overheating problem, we bleed the
van and check everything but found nothing, the problem went
away. I did his engine 2 years ago (over 20k miles since then),
i feel that one head is going bad. In have no other news for
now. I will see later but i feer the worse. But hey, worse
case happen, we have Mark (the Subi we are putting in) engine
as a spare. No one will be left alone. |
Décembre 6, Frank & Rita,
Jean et Jason nous ont quitté pour Zamora (400km). Jason ne
peut se contenir (et je le comprends), il a quitté pour la
playa, plus précisément à La Ticla où le surf l'attend!
Frank doit préparer le mariage et aller chercher sa fille
April (la mariée) et Sal (le marié). Donc, beaucoup de
préparatifs. Nellie nous quitte ce soir, elle prend l'avion
(elle est hôtesse de l'air!) vers Montréal (elle ne pouvait
que faire le "Road Trip sud"). Donc nous sommes maintenant 3
vans, moi et Sylvie, Jonathan qui travaille dur sur l'ordi (sa
job) et Hans qui fait ses adieux à Nellie :-( . Le moteur
Subaru n'est pas encore prêt mais on devait finir le boulot
demain. Le deuxième groupe devrait nous rejoindre demain.
Nous aurons donc plus de temps pour visiter cette superbe
ville (Unesco). Zacatecas (8200 pieds! ca rentre dans le corps
!) a un charme fou, comme les gens qui l'habitent.
Il est 9 pm, je
viens juste d'avoir des nouvelles du groupe parti ce matin.
Ils sont bien arrivés, mais la route était difficile. La
mauvaise nouvelle, Jason a des problèmes moteur, de la fumé
bleue qui semble être de l'huile. J'ai cependant des doutes,
je pense à un problème de tête, une craque. Lors de notre
première journée, il a eu un surchauffe importante qui semble
être un problème d'une fuite de combustion dans le système de
refroidissement. Classique ! Son niveau de liquide
refroidissement est instable. Ajoutons à cela une surchauffe,
et ça ressemble drôlement à un problème de tête. Bon, la bonne
nouvelle, c'est qu'on a maintenant un moteur de rechange au
cas où... À suivre... |

December
8 Yesterday we (me & Hans) spent the day working on
the engine, we are mostly done and we should start and test
this today. We met a great men, Don Enrique, a unique men, he
use to be a mechanic in Cuba, he now live peacefully in
Zacatecas. The second group arrive yesterday, Linda & Paul,
Jerry (waiting for is love Sophie at the airport of
Guadalajara the 12th of December), Peter and Ernest. We are
now back to 9 peoples. We may leave tomorrow for the hot
spring in a small town near Guadalajara if the engine test are
ok. We had a great dinner yesterday with our host Patricia &
Mark. |
Décembre 8
Hier
nous avons passé la journée à installer le moteur. Nous avons
presque tout terminé et nous pensons pouvoir le tester
aujourd'hui. Nous avons rencontré un homme fantastique, Don
Enrique. Originaire de Cuba, ancien mécanicien, unique en son
genre, il vit présentement en paix à Zacatecas. L'autre groupe
est arrivé hier, Linda et Paul, Jerry (en attente de sa douce
Sophie le 12 décembre à l'aéroport de Guadalajara), et Peter
et Ernest. Nous sommes de retour à un groupe de 9 personnes.
Nous pensons partir demain, dimanche, pour les "hot spring"
dans une petite ville près de Guadalajara si le moteur nous
donne pleine satisfaction aujourd'hui. Nous avons eu encore
une fois un excellent souper avec nos hôtes Patricia et Mark
hier soir dans un petit restaurant au couer de la ville de
Zacatecas. |
